Rafannette Dooley
Hi There,

I am Rafannette Dooley, cowgirl beadwork artist and designer from Texas. I am 33 years old. I have been with my husband for 11 years now and we have two kids; a girl 9 and a boy 5. Tons of critters!

We make our daily living here on the farm with a few head of cows, goats, poultry , vegetables....

I have been beading for about 15 years now. Since a back injury two years ago, I am more limited as to what I can do and am concentrating more on designing patterns.

I love horses and the western way of life, so that is what I try to depict in most of my patterns. Although I do have a few other kinds.

I love getting to visit with other beaders and if you have any questions or suggestions about my patterns or just want to talk beads give me a hollar.

Maria Kniazeva aka Magic
Let me introduce myself. My name is Maria Kniazeva and I am a beader. Sounds like some sort of confession, doesn't it? :) I made my first, very simple, necklace of white and red flowers when I was about six (my grandma helped me). Seed bead colours, shapes, and sizes bewitched me forever. During 3 years I worked in Burkina Faso and affected Africana including national African beadwork techniques. During 2 years I spent in London and I was the member of the Bead Society of Great Britain.

Now I live in Moscow, Russia. I am 40, married and have ten-month-old son Denis. He was my New Year and Birthday gift because he was born on January 1, 2004 and my birthday is January 2 :).

Unfortunately I have not enough time to plunge in my favorite hobby. Last 5 years I worked hard, nearly round the clock. There is the same around-the-clock work after my son’s birth, but I like this one :) My husband Oleg helps me a lot and enables me to spend time in beading.

I started beading in 1993. I find great pleasure in pursuing a piece from inspiration through completion. Each step - concept, design, color selection, bead selection, beading, and completion - is an integral part of a circular process I find very comforting.

Geometry and detail come easy to me. Beadwork allows me to combine the geometry, symmetry, and color in an incredibly satisfying way.

Beading holds an important and nearly sacred place in my life. I love to bead outside, especially on my deck. I dream that someday, future archeologists will find beads under it that date to pieces of mine on exhibit in some future museum.

I'm the stay at home mommy of two: Travis and Caitlyn. I've been beading for 3 years. I started with simple stringing and then got bitten by the bead bug so hard that I ventured out into other stuff like bead weaving. I've also dabbled in wire wrapping and polymer clay. I've never met a bead I didn't like! Ok. . . so some of the cheap plastic ones make my skin crawl. . . but I'm not counting those!

After lots of encouragement from my wonderful husband, Jason. . . and many friends, I've started my own business called Designs by Sammi Justice. I stay busy going to 1-2 shows each month. I also do private home shows - kind of like a candle or basket party, only different! LOL

God has truly blessed me with a great family and group of friends that keep me inspired and excited about what I do. Beading has taught me a lot about myself. . . and is a heck of a lot cheaper than therapy!

I'm a desktop publisher/graphic designer by day and a beadweaver by night. What thrills me most about beading is that it is an ancient artform, practiced in all cultures, with a history as rich and beautiful as the beadwork created.

I have been a professional Interior Designer for the last 24 years. My love for beading began about six years ago. Have always been an artist of sorts, intergrating the bead and design world has been fun. I love all aspects of the design process, designing the pattern, creating the piece, and sharing with others. I also enjoy all beadwork, jewelry, tapestrys, home accents, etc. Next to me in the photo is a beaded cherry blossom, created for the interior of a home I just completed. Hope to share more of my work here on Bead-Patterns.

Gail H. Devoid
I started beading in 2003 to relieve the stress of working on a Ph.D., and learned stitches and techniques from the generous beaders and designers on the web. Magazines, Yahoo! groups, a bead society, and then a bead retreat taught me the basics. With encouragement, I progressed to designing my own patterns and pieces. I started Need For Beads in May 2003, and sell beading supplies, patterns, kits, and finished jewelry.

I am working on setting up a bead store and polishing my webpage.

Finally married my high school sweetheart. We have been bestest buddies for 31 years... We both turned 46 this year... I am a work-at-home Mom and we have 3 boys - Stephen 21, Brian 18 and Jamie 10. Three cats - Twinkie, Snoopy and Newbie...

We live on the outskirts of Boise, Idaho. Relocated here from the San Francisco Bay Area 12 years ago. California born and raised for 35 years...

As a typical Gemini, I throw myself into some new obsession learn as much as I can, and move onto something new when I get bored...

As a child I learned sewing, embroidery, cross stitch, crochet, ceramics, beading, decoupage, painting, and anything arts & crafts... I love it all even more now...
