Hi, my name is Ruth Kiel. I work as a graphic designer in Wellington, New Zealand with my partner and daughter. I was first introduced to beads at about age 11 when I learned how to bead on a loom. After a trip to New Mexico in 1990 I rediscovered beadwork and developed a brand new love for it, exploring fresh ideas and techniques. I have enjoyed learning as many different beading techniques as possible over the last few years, drawing a lot of inspiration for my designs from the natural world. My projects are created for a wide range of age groups and skill levels. I design mostly 3 dimensional beaded animals and flowers and have been producing them as both kitsets and instructions. I also make classic style earrings, necklaces and bags etc. I like to encourage creativity, and to promote beadwork as a craft with exciting possibilities. My daughter spends a lot of time playing with big beads and the beady critters I make. I look forward to introducing her to beadwork in a few years time when she is ready!

I have been beading, as a hobby, since 1985 and started selling my custom beaded jewelry in 1996. My best friend since high school, Angi Laframboise, is a wonderful artist and I am currently converting her artwork into bead designs as well. I love to work with colors that stir memories of seasons, childhood and special events. I am a homeschooling mom to my wonderful 10 year old daughter.

Toika's death on April 15, 2009, was a shock. Our hearts and prayers are with her family. We've been told that Toika's body has been cremated. Toika, we miss you. Love Rita Toika's web site offering 'Project Blanks to Bead Around' has been closed. We are honored to able to include Toika's bead designs at Bead-Patterns.com as well as Sova-Enterprises.com. Colored Glass! Beads!, so warm and inviting to work with. I do beadweaving, and I also like other art/craft media.

Hi! Boy its hard to write things about ones own self! Well, I began my so-called artisic career doing oil painting and wanted to do something with one of my favorite things: jewelry. I began with clay dabbled in silver smithing and lapidary and then on to beads, which are of course my favorite. Had I known though how addicting it was I might have never began! Thank you

Technically, I am an embroiderer. I took City & Guilds in both Patchwork and Creative Embroidery several years ago, and have worked mainly with textiles - until I got hooked on beading! I have taught beading and embroidery and have had some pieces published. I live in London and have a great family - one husband and two (older) children, who take a real interest in the many things I do (and leave around the house!) (Crafts people will understand this!) I also love gardening and cooking and ......... there aren't enough hours in the day!
